"Things that upset a Terrier may pass virtually unnoticed by a Great Dane."
- Smiley Blaxton

| Abigail is looking for a foster home. Can you help? |
Abigail is a 1 1/2 year old merle female with natural ears who came to us when her owner could no longer afford to feed her. In her past home she lived with another female Dane and a smaller mixed breed who was also female. Abbie is as rough around the edges as they come but they don't get much sweeter than her. She is trying hard to learn some manners and to learn how to walk like a lady on a leash. So far, here at the kennel she has not played well with either sex of dog but we are hoping that it is just an adjustment for her. Today she walked very well with a medium sized dog and after the long walk did engage in some play but she was very dominant. Abigail is starved for affection and she will jump up on humans in order to demand that attention. She is learning that this is not the way to do it. She has not lived with children in the past but is reported to be good with them. We have four children all of who interact with her and she does well. We would suggest no young children because of the jumping issue. She shows no fearfulness over men. She loves anyone who she thinks will love her back. She was recently spayed, brought up to date on her shots and is heartworm negative. She is working on gaining some weight but will remain a small to medium size Dane, probably hovering around 100 pounds at ideal weight. Abigail came to MAGDRL in February 2008. (6)
